An advertisement is issued soliciting bids for the Warden’s House building plans. The advertisement reads,
The Commissioners of Public Buildings for said Territory, respectfully announce to the public, that sealed proposals will be received at their Session in St. Paul, on the 24th day of June next…for furnishing materials and performing the labor for the erection of the Territorial Prison, Stillwater. Said Prison to be of stone, and the cost not to exceed forty thousand dollars ($40,000).
