This graceful Italian Villa style residence dates from the mid-1850s and was the home of John P. Furber, one of Cottage Grove's founding fathers and the proprietor of the village mercantile. It is believed to be the oldest building still standing in Old Cottage Grove and its design reflects the influence of the Victorian cottage mode. Jacob Vandenberg built the 130-ft. long arch-roofed dairy barn on the property in 1947.
